Hi -
I am a born again Christian through the Billy Graham
ministries. I believe when a person receives Jesus Christ
as their Lord and savior He comes into our hearts and
lives there forever. He gives us the Holy Spirit to live
the Christian life. I believe our natural world has the
mark of His creation on it, but I believe He lives in our
hearts, and the more we desire of Him the more He gives
us of himself. Reading his word, praying, attending
church and living out your faith keeps us close to Him
and growing in Him.

I fine Jesus in all tings that I do. He is in my life every minute of every day and I listen hard to what he is saying. He has and will continue to guide me through many trials and sadness in my life but is the One that I can depend on to know nad understand. I work at Hospice and see the miracle of people waiting for the door to be opened so they can experience God first hand and rest forever.

I pondered the Sky God concept and asked myself where I visualize Him when I think of Him. I would have to say, it depends on where I am at the time! Sometimes, I visualize Him right beside me. Other times, He's in the sky. Still other times He's behind a closed door. And other times, I find Him holding me, taking my hand. It depends on what I'm bringing to Him and how I anticipate His response.
Recently, I was taught a lesson about the things I chose NOT to take to Him. I perceived an issue to be too petty to bother Him. I didn't tell anyone about this issue. The issue weighed on me to such an extent, I was finally forced to take it to Him. By that time, I was hurt and angry... with Him. And I told Him so. Not accusingly. Just, informatively. But, also, by that time, He had changed my heart to the extent that despite my pain, confusion and anger, I clung to Him. And I told Him so.
Then as I pondered the events of the situation, it came to me that I had refused to share it with Him, fearing that I might appear ungrateful for a more than generous gift He had just given me! The issue pertained to the gift.
I have been juggling several studies simultaneously by various teachers and authors and most interestingly, all have been focusing on the same thing - how He so loves us that He continues to pursue us like a lover. An uncomfortable concept for me at first. But pressing on, going deeper, I began to grasp the meaning of such a statement. And I realized that in every case in which I refused to take something to Him, I knew that He knew. And I knew that He knew that I knew that He knew. No, I'm not trying to be funny or confusing. I want to point out that He made me realize that I was taking Him for granted. He wanted me to bring those supposed 'petty' issues to Him. He wanted me to trust Him enough to allow Him to help me through those issues as well as the major issues.
So as this all played out, I began perceiving Him in the distance and then moved to perceiving Him holding me, guiding me by the hand through that issue.

Here's one of those "wrong" questions; Do we really care about the "lost?" And what serious evidence do we offer to convince that we do, because I'm NOT convinced. Is this a correct formula? God loved so much He sent Jesus (His part). Jesus went to the cross and died for man's sins (His part). (Our part) The "Great Commission, to simply tell, teach, etc. How's that working for us?

Yesterday, my husband and I were visiting his 85 year old
parents. His father fought in World War II. We were
discussing todays' problems with violence, crooked politics,
the latest Black Panther's statements of killing whites and
their babies. etc. Nothing spiritual came out of our mouths.
Earlier in church, we were led to pray for the Black Panthers.
But leaving, we had nothing but contempt on our tongues. My
husband's father became irritated and said to talk about
something else. He saw war times and we haven't. He's lived
a Godly life and when we left, talking on the way home about
his behavior, it dawned on me, "We said NOTHING positive". I
guess if this may be your last day on earth, one wouldn't
want to hear all the bad things that are going on in this
world. So when I read your verse, Col. 4:6, it hit me like
a ton of bricks. I was being led after the fact. If I would
follow this verse, then I would know my conversations please
the Lord. Thanks to God for your placing this for me to read
and learn by. God Bless you. I wrote it on a post it note and
put it on my computer table as a reminder. I hope to "unlock"
what the Spirit has. Appreciate this site more than I can
relay to you.

Just at this time in my life, the Lord is leading towards that locked box of my heart. I was being told my spiritual teacher, that I was attempting to go on to higher grounds without first fulfilling the primary requirements of faith. When I asked him what that was, he pointed me to the Holy Spirit for guidance.

While I prayed and asked the Holy Spirit, who searches all things, to search my heart and tell me of the lagging part, I saw an underground room in my heart that had a door of iron shaped like a shield. It was my own personal unrighteous shield of protection that I help up whenever I felt threatened. He told me that I needed to replace that with a shield of faith.

In confirmation, He provided me light from the Word -
Problem Area: Romans 8:26-30, 330-39, Romans 10:1-3
His Assurance: Romans 11:25-27 (my Deliverer has already come! YAY!)
Fix: Romans 12:1-2

Working on this! Invited Lord Jesus to the closed part of my heart. Remembering the song - 'Welcome Home' by Shaun Groves. Feeling it for the first time in such depth!!

Wonderful just-in-time faith note, Ron!
God bless!

Thanks,
Shalini.
This Faith Note struck home. The last line "U have been the story, share it" is what I am doing. I also received a wake up call in April 2006 - an accident where I was rear ended by a semi. I should not have survived, but God had a plan for me - if I chose to quit running and accept it. Per God's leading, I wrote a book (When God Came Callling) about my feelings of hopelessness, unworthiness & unhappiness during my recovery. Lots of people have read my book and have been encouraged and uplifted and I praise God it has spoken to their hearts which was the real purpose for this book. People need to know that only God can & will give us the hope, mercy, peace and love we so desperately search for.

I used to think that imagination was a silly thing, until I began to come to the realization that imagination is indeed a creation of God, too - no different than intellect. It is through imagination that we dream, and through our dreams, we find success. What a gift imagination is!

HI RON--I loved your story about Tommy.I became a believer when I was eight years old on my sick bed confined to bed because of a leaky heart valve.I believed implicitly until I was an adult living in the city(I grew up in the country) Seeing all the people coming and going in this busy city I felt very far from God and started to wonder if God was really there. It took a long time of searching, searching in all the wrong places until I came to a crisis in my marriage and was attending Alanon. This was where God finally showed in a very simple but powerful way that He really did exist. Much Bible study followed this as I was finally hungry for God's Word and my faith has been centered in Him and His Holy Word! In Christ's love,Joyce.

Thank you for this devotional. I am in a very difficult situation in my marriage. My husband left me for an affair after 25 years of marriage.. He asked to come back several months later, only to further discover years of hidden sexual addiction. God is not done with us yet. I know God is in this and I have been waiting to hear from God as to what direction to take. When your devotional says that I must move,in essence step out in faith toward God, that gave me the push and the questions to ask my Lord. Thank you. I will continue the difficult process of stepping into God not knowing where It will lead.

I there are a number of not clasical christmas carols that move me but one challenges me. It came from a CD put out by Operation Christmas Child several years ago and I have never seen the song since. The song is "Wise Men still Seek Him" sung by Paul Overstreet. It's chorus says "Wise men still seek him those on earth who realize how much they need him. Following Jesus where he may lead them" -- My prayer is I will follow Jesus where ever he leads.
Thank you LORD.
I was just studying a Real Estate course and I was told that the 1st. thing to do in this course was to Take Action no matter what the outcome. Well, I also read an email from a church friend after the course study and he sent me to Faith Notes and I eventually read this Faith note. God has convicted me to believe this quote: "It doesn't matter what we've done, or what we've become. God wants us home. And, when we take that step toward home, it makes him proud." I am coming back home to him. Praise God!
I will be reading Faith Notes in my email every day and I will go back and read all of them for this year. Thank you for being there for the LORD.
